Stanhope-Seta had the pleasure of attending the Brooklands Innovation Academy event at Brooklands Museum on 3rd October 2023.

The event was designed to inspire young students to try new STEM experiences and to think more creatively about a STEM career. The Brooklands Innovation Academy is part of the National Science Summer School Programme which was co-founded by Professor Brian Cox CBE, Lord Andrew Mawson OBE and Well North Enterprises. 400 students from Surrey, Hampshire and Middlesex visited Brooklands Museum where over 20 companies held a range of workshops for students to attend. The event also proudly hosted HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh who met the students and also participated in the workshops.

Our Business and Community Lead, Jadranka Nicholls and Market Development Manager, Matt Fielder attended on Seta’s behalf. Matt and Jadranka held a number of workshops based on fuels with a focus on sustainable technologies and fuel cleanliness allowing students to see firsthand how our instruments work. After the STEM event, Seta attended the Careers fair which gave Matt and Jadranka the chance to speak more in depth to the parents and students about the opportunities that can be provided throughout and after formal education.

We are very grateful to the Brooklands Innovation Academy for allowing us the opportunity to inspire young students and help change their perspective on STEM subjects. The event was a great success and received great feedback. Jadranka has commented

“We had the most amazing time at Brooklands Museum and it has been an incredible experience and opportunity to witness outstanding STEM events like this year’s Innovation academy.

Students really enjoyed the hands on workshops that were aimed at various principles of producing safe jet fuel and their participation was incredible. The day finished with the Careers fair where we were able to speak to parents as well as students and advise them about the importance of Work experience and the options after completing formal education. We are very happy to have been able to contribute to the success of Brooklands Innovation Academy.”

Thank you to Faudi Aviation for providing a coalescer and separator filter element, SAP media and posters to support the workshops.
