Stanhope-Seta Honoured with Prestigious King’s Award for International Trade
Stanhope-Seta Ltd is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the King’s Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade, a prestigious recognition of the company’s sustained export success and global impact.
This marks the fifth Royal accolade for Stanhope-Seta, building on its legacy of excellence with previous Queen’s Awards for International Trade in 2012 and 2022, and for Innovation in 2014 and 2019.

A Legacy of British Engineering and Global Reach
Founded in 1940, Stanhope-Seta is a British, family-owned business that designs and manufactures advanced laboratory testing instruments used in quality control. From its headquarters in Chertsey, Surrey, and a newly acquired second facility in Byfleet, the company continues to expand its global presence.
Seta instruments are exported to more than 120 countries, supporting sectors including fuels, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food. The company is represented internationally by a trusted network of distributors, with dedicated regional offices in Malaysia and South Africa providing local technical support and training.
Innovation Engineered in the UK
Seta instruments are proudly developed and manufactured in the UK, with the majority of production located at the company’s manufacturing facility in Chertsey. The in-house R&D team leverages the latest technologies to deliver intuitive, highly automated instruments that provide fast and accurate results.
Seta is also deeply engaged in international standards development, chairing and participating in global committees such as ASTM, BSI, ISO, CEN and IATA. This work ensures that Seta instruments not only meet but help define globally recognised testing standards.
Supporting Growth through Knowledge and Education
The King’s Award highlights the strength of Seta’s export strategy, which is driven by a commitment to knowledge-sharing, technical training, and local engagement. The company runs regional seminars and technical workshops to support both partners and end-users with expert training and insights.
Stanhope-Seta is also dedicated to community outreach and education, offering apprenticeships, internships, and STEM programmes to inspire the next generation of engineers. It proudly supports the GASP charity, helping less advantaged and less able young people gain valuable workplace experience.

A Milestone Moment
In a joint statement, company Directors Giles and Martin Verity said,
“Receiving the King’s Award is a tremendous honour and a testament to our team’s passion, commitment and technical excellence. As we continue to fly the flag for British manufacturing and innovation, this recognition strengthens our resolve to lead the way in testing solutions for a changing world.”
