Stanhope-Seta Brings Together Customers for Asia Customer Conference 2026
Following our Asia Partner Conference, Stanhope-Seta was pleased to welcome customers to the Seta Asia Customer Conference on 1 October 2026, alongside our Malaysian Partner, Gamma Scientific Research.
The conference brought together technical expertise, standards updates and the latest developments in fuel testing, with a particular focus on how laboratories can respond to evolving specifications, new fuel types and the transition towards lower-carbon fuels.
The programme combined presentations with hands on instrument sessions, giving attendees an opportunity to discuss both the standards shaping their work and the technologies available to support their laboratories.
Responding to changing fuel specifications
The day began with an overview of international standardisation, including the roles of ASTM International, the Energy Institute, CEN and ISO, before looking more closely at developments affecting aviation fuel testing.
Topics included changes to DEF STAN 91-091, refinery co-processing and developments relating to ASTM D1655.
Dedicated technology sessions then explored AvCount particle counting, WSI water separation testing, FIJI and the role of Certified Reference Materials.

Testing for the transition to lower carbon fuels
Sustainability and changing fuel composition were important themes throughout the conference.
A dedicated aviation session explored Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), pathways towards 100% synthetic sustainable jet fuel and the role of ASTM D7566 and D4054. The programme also looked at marine and diesel fuel quality, including EN 590 and ISO 8217.
These changes are creating new testing requirements across the fuel industry and increasing the importance of reliable, standardised laboratory analysis as conventional and alternative fuels continue to evolve.
New approaches to laboratory and field testing
Attendees were also introduced to new technologies designed to support modern testing requirements, including SetaCheck Biodiesel and SetaCheck Ethanol for handheld field based testing.
The afternoon programme included an ASTM International update followed by a session on Reference Materials and Proficiency Testing Schemes, including ISO 17034 and the interpretation of PT scheme results.
The conference concluded with further hands on instrument demonstrations and an opportunity for attendees to speak directly with the Stanhope-Seta team.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions. Events such as these provide an invaluable opportunity to exchange knowledge with the laboratories and organisations using our instruments and to better understand the testing challenges facing customers across the region.
