Stanhope-Seta are proud to sponsor Team Atomic from Robert Mays School through their STEM Racing competition.

STEM Racing has become a leading global school-based STEM programme, engaging talented young people aged 9-19 in designing, analysing, making, testing and racing miniature gas-powered cars. Teams are also judged on a number of key business skills including:

  • Portfolios
  • Verbal presentations
  • Interviews
  • Finance management
  • Marketing strategies

Supported by F1, STEM Racing is a highly recognised and respected STEM challenge that encourages young people to change their perspectives on related subjects. By creating a fun and exciting learning environment for students, STEM Racing inspires more to enter into careers of engineering, science, marketing and technology.

With over 30,000 teams competing from 60+ difference countries, team Atomic have had to stay committed throughout the competition. The team is made up of 5 members who have all taken on different roles and responsibilities to achieve the best possible result. Different areas include creating and designing a car, manufacturing it, testing and branding for the team.

The team have done incredibly well so far. We are proud to announce that Team Atomic have won National Finals, giving them the opportunity to represent the UK at the World Finals in Singapore.
