Stanhope-Seta Thrilled to Partake in STEAM Event at Thorpe Park
Stanhope-Seta had a thrilling experience participating in a STEAM event hosted by ACS International Schools on Tuesday 7th October at Thorpe Park.
10,000 students were brought together from over 80 schools to experience an unforgettable celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. Seta was one of 70 exhibitors to provide a range of educational activities for students between the ages of 8-18.
The Seta team included our Business and Community Lead, Jadranka Nicholls, and two of our R&D Mechanical Design Engineers, Dom and Hesham, who held a workshop focusing on the importance of introducing sustainable fuels to reduce carbon emissions and offset the need for fossil fuels. The students were given the opportunity to observe modern laboratory techniques and applications as Dom and Hesham demonstrated how the SetaCheck Biodiesel instrument works with diesel samples of various biofuel percentages.

The students also took part in a workshop which highlighted the importance of clean and dry fuels to ensure safe travel. Using the Series 3 Flash Point Tester, the Seta team demonstrated flash point tests on jet fuel.

The day was a success with our Business and Community Lead, Jadranka Nicholls, commenting:
“We are very proud to be a part of such an esteemed event and offer students an insight into the world of engineering”
We were proud to support such an important event for young students, helping to inspire the next generation of engineers.
