Stanhope-Seta are proud sponsors of the Booklands Innovation Academy, which aims to create inspirational STEM experiences for young people.

Seta were proud to be a part of the STEM event at Brooklands Museum in Surrey on Wednesday, 1st October. Our Business and Community Lead, Jadranka Nicholls, Service Manager, James Greenhouse and Senior Application Engineer, Cristiano Garau attended on Seta’s behalf with a variety of exciting activities for the students to partake in.

The students were tasked with testing the air quality and looking for invisible particles using one of our particle counters. With an AvCount3 Particle Counter, the students then had to compare three fuel samples, finding various levels of contamination.

By running tests on the Seta instruments, students had the opportunity to engage with instruments and learn how they worked, as well as witness first-hand laboratory techniques and applications. The experience received a great deal of positive feedback from all.

“Great insight into your world of work and useful to have a hands on activities for the students to take part in. Without these hands on activities students would not engage much”

“Very fun and inclusive. It was educational and helpful to understand about air pollution and clean liquids”

Our Business and Community Lead, Jadranka Nicholls, commented:

“The student’s engagement, curiosity and overall comprehension were extremely positive and we feel proud to be a part of such an educational learning experience”

We are very pleased to have been involved in such a successful STEM event and believe in the importance of supporting and inspiring young people to become the next generation of scientists and engineers, helping make Britain the best place in the world to do science.
